Access Cost Management (ACM) - Regional
Bell Company
The Access Cost Management (ACM) System is used to apply costs
to the Call Detail Records that are generated by this Bell Company's
network, based on various criteria for international, domestic and
non-domestic usage. Tecnosoft was involved in the generation of
design specifications and the development of the application. The
ACM is a client/server system. It was developed using Unix C, Pro
*C/C++, and ORACLE 7.3, with PowerBuilder for the front end.
Tecnosoft's responsibilities included:
- User interaction
- Design and development of processes for the ACM System
- Transaction management for interfaces using Tuxedo
- Training in Tuxedo and ACM system administration for Bell Company
internal technical staff.
Provisioning System - TelecommunicationsCarrier
Tecnosoft was involved in the design and development of ALDOS,
a telecommunications-based provisioning system. The ALDOS system
establishes long distance service, monitors network performance,
and supports the identification, tracking and resolution of problems
within the network. The system extracts data from customer orders
and sets up interfaces to equipment such as long distance switches,
and databases for callings and national and local SMS 800 information.
The system also generates work orders that are sent to the Local
Exchange Carriers (LECs) and performs the activities necessary to
provision the long distance service.
Tecnosoft's tasking included:
- Design and development of system services, programs and processes;
- Tuxedo set-up, administration and performance monitoring; and
- Test suite generation, integration and execution.
ALODOS is built on a client/server architecture on a SPARCserver-1000
hardware platform. TUXEDO is the middleware tool used for transaction
monitoring, with Oracle as the central database. The development
interfaces included C, C++, Pro *C, PowerBuilder, and DCI.
Materials Management System - Telecommunications
Company
Quality application developers are scarce and expensive. When the
IT staff of this first ISP needed to meet stringent deadlines for
development of its materials management system, Tecnosoft was able
to help. Using its offshore development team in Bangalore, India,
Tecnosoft was able to exceed this customer's expectations.
The Tecnosoft team used Visual C++, MFC and Sybase OpenClient library
to develop the application front end for the SYBASE the database
server. Stored procedures were used to implement the numerous batch
processing requirements. Tecnosoft's responsibilities included overall
system design, database design, and system development. The resulting
application performs order processing, hardware/software procurement,
inventory control and other related materials management activities.
